We are thrilled to announce that our social and emotional regulation program Beyond Boxing has received generous support from the Geelong Chapter of the Awesome Foundation! This grant will significantly bolster our efforts to empower and engage teens in the Greater Geelong area.

About the Awesome Foundation Geelong Chapter

What Do They Do?

The Geelong Chapter of the Awesome Foundation provides one or more grants totalling up to $1,000 each month to individuals, groups, and projects within the City of Greater Geelong. These grants are given with no strings attached, allowing recipients the freedom to pursue their creative and impactful initiatives. The monthly grant can be awarded to a single applicant or divided among multiple recipients, depending on the applications received.

Who Are They?

The Awesome Foundation is a small collection of trustees from Geelong who are deeply invested in fostering community spirit and encouraging innovative and meaningful projects. They take great pride in their role as supporters of local awesomeness, and their commitment to the community is evident in their generous monthly grants.

How the Awesome Foundation Supports Beyond Boxing

Beyond Boxing is dedicated to providing social and emotional regulation support for high school students and community groups. Our exclusive in-person program is specifically designed to help high school students reignite their enthusiasm and reconnect with their peers and the broader school community. Through a variety of skill-building activities, we empower participants to rediscover their sense of self and present themselves with confidence and empowerment.

The grant from the Awesome Foundation will enable us to offer a local teen from one of our programs a scholarship to access our teen boxing membership for the year. This scholarship will provide the recipient with ongoing mentorship and community support, helping them build resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging.

Recognising Rising Commitment and Leadership

We are delighted to announce that we have awarded the scholarship to a participant who embodies exceptional leadership qualities, a willingness to work on building resilience skills, and a demonstrated commitment to maximising opportunities. This outstanding individual did not miss a single session of the 7-week program we offered this term, showcasing their dedication and drive.
