Introduction to Sparring & Contact Drills: Boxing Workshop

If you have ever considered including boxing sparring into your weekly training, and maybe even getting in the ring to test your skills – this workshop will be a perfect introduction to sparring.

At Geelong Boxing Club we are fortunate enough to have a 2X World Champion as our head coach.

This proud father of two is known as being a dedicated family man that transforms into a ferocious, focused fighter with a mighty combination of skill and power.

Stone Cold Steve Moxon made waves internationally with his knockout power and exciting fight style. He has fought on the biggest shows including : GLORY, Top Rank Boxing, Kunlun, Shoot Boxing, Kings of Kombat, Iron Mike Challenge Athens… the list goes on.

Moxon is a passionate coach that is exceptionally good at supporting beginners in safely learning the movements and skills needed to participate in sparring.

At Geelong Boxing Club we take great pride in creating experiences to unlock the untapped potential within each of our members.

In 2020 there will be opportunities for members that consistently attend weekly boxing tech and sparring sessions to participate in point scoring sparring nights in June and December in front of friends, family and the wider community.

Join us for this 60 minute sparring fundamentals workshop created for beginners that will cover:

-Safe Striking techniques to avoid injury to you and your sparring partner
-Controlled Aggression
-Correct defence techniques

There will be time for a Q & A session with Steve that will give participants the opportunity to ask questions about point scoring sparring.

This event is open to all levels of fitness and experience.

NO SPARRING EXPERIENCE NEEDED.

Understanding of basic boxing techniques preferred.

This workshop is for you if you have a keen interest in boxing and would like to improve your skills and learn how to spar in a safe, supportive environment.

*Participants will need to bring boxing gloves of any size.
16 oz preferred but not necessary for this workshop.

No mouth guard needed for participation in this workshop.
