Member Spotlight: Mon Medved
Jan 31, 2018This month at Geelong Boxing Club we have seen energy and motivation at an all time high – its been an awesome start to 2018 !
It makes us so happy to give a nod to one member in particular who has blown us away with her consistency and dedication – Monique Medved!
Mon has been training with our boxing coach Steve Moxon for a few years and is very humble about the impressive skill level she demonstrates in sessions. She is fit, fast and moves like a pro. Mon can hold pads for anyone and everyone, including our amateur fighters (they have even commented on how well she holds pads! A huge compliment!)
Although she doesnt make a big deal about it, we have noticed just how dedicated Mon has been to training lately and just how fit she is getting! Not only does Mon box, she also regularly joins in our our midday express FIT classes and is steadily building her strength and form with weight training. It is not uncommon for her to now come in to the gym for two sessions a day – and smashes it both times!
Mon has had a little bit of trouble with a sore wrist this month – but she has not let it slow her down! She has simply worked around it and worked with coaches to modify workouts to ensure that she keeps moving and keeps herself accountable to showing up and training!
We LOVE seeing young women building healthy habits into their lifestyle and commend Mon for balancing a busy life with making time to invest in herself and her health and fitness.
We feel very lucky to have Mon training with us here at Geelong Boxing Club and are proud to give her this HUGE SHOUT OUT!
Keep it up Mon – you are all sorts of awesome!
