Set your intention for the session. Be crystal clear about what it is you want to experience and what you will get out of the session. Sometimes we think we can anticipate how things will play out – and when we feel challenged or a workout requires us to step further out of our comfort zone than we had expected, we panic, freeze up and retreat.
The expectation that we had for how we should feel in the session gets in the way of us fulfilling our intention. Has that happened to you?
You might have gone into the session with the intention of destressing and just giving 110% effort – and subconsciously you expected that it should feel enjoyable.
When the workout heats up, and you are challenged – your expectation of ‘enjoyment’ is rattled and you freak out & begin telling yourself this is too hard, I’m too unfit, I can’t do this.
