ABOUT THE GYM
At Geelong Boxing Club, integrity is at the core of everything we do. We're not just another gym—we are a community-driven space with a deep commitment to holistic well-being. This is why we proudly position ourselves as a gym that could be socially prescribed, playing a vital role in improving both physical and mental health in our community.
Social prescribing is about offering non-clinical services to support people’s health, and boxing is a powerful tool in this context. Our approach is built on the idea that movement, discipline, and community can provide profound emotional and psychological benefits. For those struggling with stress, anxiety, or low confidence, boxing offers an outlet that fosters resilience, emotional regulation, and personal growth.
What sets Geelong Boxing Club apart is our dedication to creating a space that is welcoming to all. Co-owned by Lena Moxon, a globally recognised expert in emotional regulation, our programs are designed to support both physical and emotional well-being. Lena’s expertise in child and adolescent mental health ensures that our sessions are carefully crafted to help participants, young and old, feel empowered and equipped to manage their emotions both in and out of the gym.
Our coaches, led by Steve Moxon, design inclusive, empowering programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual—whether it’s a young person building confidence or someone managing mental health through structured activity. Lena’s influence adds an extra layer of support, making Geelong Boxing Club not just a place for fitness, but a sanctuary for emotional resilience.
Our commitment to integrity means that every aspect of our gym supports holistic well-being. By focusing on the mind-body connection and offering a safe, supportive space, we deliver programs that align with the principles of social prescription, helping members strengthen both body and mind.
Geelong Boxing Club is a place where anyone can come, regardless of their background or challenges, to connect, grow, and find strength in themselves and their community.

TESTIMONIALS
I’ve been a member at Geelong Boxing Club for over 2 years and have loved every single moment! I think I was one of the youngest members when I joined and I cant even describe how welcoming Steve and Lena and all the other members were. I can guarantee you’ll leave with AT LEAST 1 friend from joining, as this gym provides such an amazing community.
The amount of knowledge that both Steve and Lena have is amazing! Ive learnt so much boxing and weight training and knowledge is such an incredible thing to have.
They also showed me to see that I am capable of achieving goals and I guarantee that they do this for all the other members.
Steve and Lena are so incredibly passionate and such caring people you wont regret getting to know! Its unfortunate that a health condition has stopped me from doing what I used to do – but they were so understanding about this.
I am gutted that I will no longer be a member but I have loved every minute at this gym and could not recommend Geelong Boxing Club enough!

I have been training with Steve Moxon for almost 12 months, doing a few 1 on 1 Boxing sessions per week. Steve is always bringing new techniques to teach me each session and not 2 sessions are the same. Not only can I now button my shirts right to the top, my day to day business and decision making is a lot more focused. And I also have a lot more energy for my wife and 3 kids.
— Addicted boxer – Heath MacFadyen

I’ve been training with Steve for over 5 years and there is no one that’s more knowledgeable and passionate when it comes to teaching boxing and Muay Thai kickboxing. Geelong Boxing Club has well thought out strength and Conditioning programs that will push you to your absolute limits but you will see the results! Geelong Boxing Club with Steve and Lena as well as crew that are there day in and day out are like one big family. Couldn’t recommend them enough!
TRY IT OUT! — Monique Medved
I honestly could not recommend Geelong Boxing Club highly enough. Like many others, I’ve tried gyms in the past but nothing compares to the service you receive as a member of Geelong Boxing Club. Steve and Lena are 2 very knowledgeable and passionate people who go above and beyond to ensure your experience is second to none. From the ongoing support they provide towards training and nutrition to the group sessions that might I add no 2 are ever the same. To mindset classes, podcasts, workshops, a running program and much more. There is so much extra added value in becoming a member. Try it out now, it’s a great community to be apart of.

Geelong Boxing Club is a gym like no other. Steve and Lena put in massive effort to create and sustain a sense of community and connection through their gym. The classes are fun, motivating, inspiring, challenging, inclusive, friendly, and always different. No chance of getting bored here with the same old stuff each visit like in other gyms! They also offer lots of free workshops, and their commitment to maintaining an online community during Covid times was outstanding. Definitely give this gym a go!
